In North Carolina, you will need to obtain your home inspection license through the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The first step is to complete 120 hours of online education. Our NC online course will take you through the entire inspection process, step by step. You’ll learn the standards of practice, learn what to look for in each area of the home, and fine-tune your report writing techniques. This course can be done entirely at your own pace 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to this course, you will also need to plan for 80 hours of field training with an AHIT instructor.

In addition to your 120-hour online course, you will also need to attend 80 hours of field training with a North Carolina-licensed inspector. AHIT provides the 80 hours of field training over a 10-day class. Your training will consist of 10 supervised practice inspections on local homes. Our expert field trainers will lead you through each home, and guide you in filling out your own reports in real-life scenarios.
