Requirements to Become a Rhode Island Home Inspector

  • Rhode Island home inspector education hours: No education required
  • Inspections: Provide one hundred (100) home inspections
  • Exam Required: PSI
  • Application Fee: $200 (other fees may apply)
  • Insurance Requirements: Certificate of General Liability Insurance with a minimum coverage of $500,000, naming RICRLB as the certificate holder and a Certificate of Errors and Omissions Insurance with a minimum coverage of $500,000, naming RICRLB as the certificate holder.
  • Notarized application is not required
  • High School Diploma or GED is required

Home Inspection License Expiration: Every two years
