Construction Worker

In the construction business, workers have to ensure that new construction, changes, or repairs complied with local and national building codes and ordinances. This is very similar to being a home inspector! As a home inspector, you have to make sure that the home is up to par for the potential buyer.

Carpenter

As a carpenter, they have to learn how to construct and repair building frameworks and structures, such as stairways and doorframes.  If you have this background, this is an easy transition into a home inspection career because you already know what to look for on your inspection.

Real Estate Agent

As a real estate agent, one must sell homes, and by doing this has already allowed the agents to establish great people skills, which will help in the home inspection business.

Retirement

Many people retire and realize that they want to do something else just to keep busy or maybe they want to work on their own, and create their own business! Why not join the home inspector workforce.
