Qualifications to become a Licensed New York Home Inspector

Education
Attend AHIT’s approved pre-licensure 100 hour classroom course including 40 hours of unpaid inspection experience under the direct supervision of a licensed inspector.  AHIT's instructors are NY licensed home inspectors.  

Testing

Pass the New York State Exam

Insurance

General liability insurance minimum amount of $150,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate
