Qualifications to become a Home Inspector
Connecticut home inspectors are required by law to be licensed.
Licensing Requirements
a) Completed high school or equivalent
b) Have:
- Earned a home inspector intern permit and
performed not less than one hundred home inspections
under the supervision of a licensed home inspector.
For a minimum of the first ten inspections, the supervision
must be direct
- Successfully completed a board-approved
training program consisting of no less then 40 hours
c) Pass written examination administered by the
Department
Qualifications to become a Home Inspector Intern
Education
a) Completed high school or equivalent
b) Have enrolled in and completed a board-approved
training program of no less then 40 hours
Additional
a) Have an identified supervisor who (A) is licensed
as a home inspector in Connecticut, (B) is in good
standing with the state as a home inspector, and (C)
has agreed to perform supervisory functions as described
in General Statues and Regulations
