Word 2010InspectIt® Software and Microsoft® Word® 2010 Compatibility

For some reasons on some computers Microsoft Word 2010 will run into errors when attempting to run our program.

The only known fix to this error is by following these steps exactly:

 

Step 1: Close ALL Microsoft Office Products

Common open Microsoft Office Products Include:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft PowerPoint

Once your Microsoft documents are all closed, search your appdata folder for all *.exd files.
Delete all *.exd files from your computer.

Step 2: Download our ComFileInstaller.zip to your desktop.

Step 3: Right-click on the file you just downloaded and select “Extract All…

  • You should have now have a file called "ComFileInstaller.exe"

Step 4: Right click ComFileInstaller.exe and select “Run Administrator

(Please note if you are using Windows XP, just double click the ComFileInstaller.exe to run it)

  • You will should see the installer screen that looks like this…

  • Once it completes, close this window by clicking on the X in the upper right hand corner.

Step 5: Run A Microsoft Word Repair.

  • Click Start start icon and select “Control Panel”
  • If you see the screen below click “Uninstall a Program” (listed under Programs)

     
  • Otherwise, if you see the screen below click "Programs and Features":

     
  • A list of all of your programs will appear. Locate and left click on your Microsoft Office 2010 to select it.
     
  • Then click “Change” located in the menu bar at the top of the list of programs.
     

     
  • When the screen below appears, select “Repair” and click “Continue”.

  • After this completes, your computer will need to restart. Please restart your computer.
  • After it restarts, DO NOT RUN ReportPlus, ReportPro For Texas, or Word.
  • Please Repeat this step Again and perform another Word Repair.
  • Once the second Word Repair is concluded and the computer restarts a second time, your software should return to normal.
