The HOME STAR Energy Retrofit Act of 2010

HOME STAR Energy Retrofit Act of 2010 is newly proposed legislation that would provide $6 billion dollars of incentives to the American people in hopes of generating an estimated three million home modifications, tens of thousands of jobs, and to strengthen the American economy.

HOME STAR is anticipated to create jobs in existing industries by providing strong short term incentives for energy efficiency enhancements in residential homes or buildings.  This initiative encourages direct consumer investment in energy efficient appliances, building mechanical systems and insulation, and home energy efficiency improvements.

On Thursday, April 15th the House Committee on Energy and Commerce approved the bipartisan HOME STAR Energy Retrofit Act of 2010 by a vote of 30-17 (HR 5019).
